Referrals & Discount Codes
Grow your customer base with referral rewards and custom discount codes.
Referral Program
Word of mouth is the best marketing there is — and your referral program makes it easy to reward customers for sending new business your way.
Here's how it works: you set a "Give" amount (a credit for the new customer) and a "Get" amount (a credit for the person who referred them). Both amounts can be anywhere between $1 and $50, and you can configure them separately for one-time orders and weekly subscriptions.
Setting it up
- Go to your Storefront and tap Referral Settings.
- Toggle on the referral program for ad-hoc orders, subscriptions, or both — whatever fits your business.
- Set your Give and Get amounts. For example, you might give new customers $10 off their first order and reward the referrer with $5 in credit.
- Share your unique referral link with existing customers. They can forward it to friends, post it on social media, or text it to anyone who could use your services.
When a referred customer places their first order, both parties get credited automatically. No extra steps for you or your customers. Credits expire after 90 days, so they're encouraged to use them sooner rather than later.
Referral Stats
Your Referral Settings screen isn't just for configuration — it also shows real-time stats so you can see how your program is performing. You'll find:
- Total referrals — how many people have been referred to you
- Outstanding credits — credits that have been issued but not yet redeemed
- Redeemed credits — credits that have been used on orders
- Converted referrals — how many referred customers actually placed a real order
This makes it easy to gauge whether your Give/Get amounts are hitting the right balance. If conversions are low, try bumping the new customer credit up a bit.
Discount Codes
Discount codes give you another tool to attract and retain customers. Create custom codes that your customers can enter at checkout for a percentage or dollar amount off their order.
How to create a discount code
- Go to your Storefront and tap Discount Codes, then Create Code.
- Enter a code name — 4 to 20 characters, letters and numbers only. Or tap the random generator if you're not feeling creative.
- Choose the discount type — percentage off or a fixed dollar amount.
- Set the discount value — for example, 10% or $5.00.
- Set optional limits — minimum order amount, max discount cap (useful for percentage codes so a big order doesn't wipe out your margin), max total redemptions, one-per-customer limit, or an expiration date.
- Tap Create and your code is live.
Managing Codes
From the Discount Codes screen, you have full control over every code you've created:
- Share codes directly to customers via in-app chat — no need to switch apps or copy-paste.
- Edit settings like limits and expiration dates at any time.
- Deactivate a code temporarily without deleting it. Handy for seasonal promotions you want to bring back later.
- Delete codes that have never been used if you want to clean things up.
One thing to note: codes that have already been redeemed can't be deleted — deactivate them instead. This keeps your records intact.
Tip: Start simple — a "WELCOME10" code for 10% off first orders is a great way to get new customers in the door. You can always get more creative later.
