Messaging
Chat directly with your provider or customer — no phone tag, no email chains.
How Messaging Works
Laundryve has built-in messaging so you and your provider (or customer) can coordinate without leaving the app. Each provider-customer pair gets one ongoing conversation — it's not per-order, so you can chat about anything from scheduling to special instructions.
The app also drops in automatic system messages when order statuses change, so you always have context right there in the conversation thread.
Finding Your Messages
- For customers: tap the Messages tab from your home screen.
- For providers: tap Messages from your dashboard.
- You'll see a list of all your conversations with unread counts.
- Search by name to find a specific conversation.
Starting a New Conversation
You can only message providers or customers you're connected with. If you've booked with a provider (or they've connected with you via link or QR code), a conversation is automatically created.
To start chatting with a connected contact who doesn't have a conversation yet, tap the "+" button on the Messages screen.
Sending Messages
You can send:
- Text messages (up to 2,000 characters)
- Photos from your camera or photo library
- Or both at once
Hit the send button (the arrow icon) when you're ready.
System Messages
You'll see italicized messages in the conversation when order statuses change — things like "Order picked up" or "Order delivered." These are automatic; neither party sent them.
If a system message is linked to an order, you can tap "View Order Details" to jump straight to it.
Tip: Messages are great for things like "I left the bag on the back porch" or "Can you use unscented detergent?" — the kind of quick back-and-forth that makes the experience better for everyone.
