Laundry Guard Protection
Protection for when things go wrong.
What Is Laundry Guard?
Laundry Guard is an optional damage protection add-on you can include with any order for $2.99. If something goes wrong with your laundry during service — stains, shrinkage, color bleeding, or other damage — Laundry Guard covers you up to the value of your order (max $200).
It's not insurance — it's a simple protection plan offered directly by Laundryve. No third parties, no complicated paperwork.
How to Add Laundry Guard
You'll see the Laundry Guard option on your booking review screen, right before you place your order. Toggle it on to add the $2.99 protection fee. The fee is included in your total and charged along with your order.
If you have a weekly subscription, you can also enable Laundry Guard as part of your recurring order — it will be added automatically each week.
What's Covered
- Staining, discoloration, or color bleeding caused during washing or processing
- Shrinkage or stretching beyond normal wear
- Fabric damage, tears, or burns from processing equipment
- Lost items that were documented at pickup but not returned
Coverage is capped at the lesser of $200 or your order subtotal. For example, if your order total is $45, your coverage cap is $45.
What's Not Covered
- Pre-existing damage (documented in pickup photos)
- Normal wear and tear
- Items with care labels that prohibit the requested service
- Claims filed more than 48 hours after delivery
Filing a Claim
If something went wrong, here's how to file a claim:
- Open the delivered order from your order history.
- Tap "File a Claim" — this option appears on orders with Laundry Guard.
- Describe the damage and take photos of the affected items.
- Enter the claimed amount — up to your coverage cap.
- Submit — your claim goes to the review team.
Important: Claims must be filed within 48 hours of delivery. After that window closes, claims can no longer be submitted.
What Happens After You File
Your claim is reviewed by the Laundryve team. They compare your damage photos against the pickup photos your provider took, review the order details, and make a decision. You'll receive a push notification when your claim is resolved.
Possible outcomes:
- Approved — the claimed amount is refunded to your original payment method.
- Denied — the claim didn't meet coverage criteria. You'll see the reason in the app.
- Premium refunded — in some cases, the $2.99 Laundry Guard fee is refunded even if the damage claim itself isn't approved.
Photo Verification and Laundry Guard
When Laundry Guard is active on an order, your provider uses a more detailed photo process at pickup. Instead of just overview shots, they photograph individual items and can flag any pre-existing damage. This creates a clear baseline so claims can be evaluated fairly for both you and your provider.
