Labels & Scanning
Print labels for every order, scan QR codes for instant lookup, and keep your laundry organized.
How Labels Work
When you confirm an order, a unique label code is automatically generated (format: LV-XXXX). This code identifies the order throughout its lifecycle. Each label includes:
- A QR code for instant scanning
- The human-readable label code
- Customer name (optional — you can toggle this in settings)
- Service type abbreviation
- Pickup date
- Bag number (e.g., "Bag 1 of 3" for multi-bag orders)
Printing Labels
Individual labels
From any order's detail screen, tap the Print Label button. You can choose between standard label size (4" x 2.5") or thermal label size (4" x 2") depending on your printer setup.
Batch printing
For efficiency, you can print labels for all of today's confirmed orders at once. Use the Batch Print button on your dashboard. Standard batch prints format 8 labels per US Letter sheet.
Tip: You can set a default bag count in your label settings. If most of your orders are single-bag, set the default to 1. For multi-bag orders, adjust the count on the individual order before printing.
Scanning Labels
Use the QR scanner (available from the floating action button on your dashboard or the active route screen) to scan any label and instantly pull up the associated order. This is the fastest way to look up an order when you're sorting laundry or loading bags.
Manual code search
If a label is damaged or hard to scan, you can manually type the 4-character code into the search field to find the order.
Multi-Bag Orders
For orders with multiple bags, each bag gets its own label showing "Bag X of Y." This helps you keep track of all bags belonging to the same order, especially when managing multiple orders simultaneously.
Automatic Bag Count
When a customer books services priced per bag, the bag count from their order is automatically used as the label count — so if they ordered 3 bags of wash & fold, you'll get 3 labels ready to print without any manual adjustment. If the order doesn't include per-bag services, the system falls back to your default bag count from your label settings. You can always adjust the count manually before printing using the stepper on the print screen.
Label Settings
In your provider settings, you can customize:
- Show customer name — toggle whether the customer's name appears on printed labels
- Default bag count — set the fallback number of bags for orders that don't include per-bag services
